Lake Norman Little League offers recreational softball divisions of play for girls, league ages 6-16. The age determination date for a Little League Softball player is the actual age of a child on December 31 of the previous year. League age ranges are typical for these programs to keep participants playing age appropriate ball. Age ranges often overlap, allowing players who need a little more time to develop to play down in a division, or play up in a division if they are ready to advance and if approved by the league board. All softball players are required to attend a skills evaluation, after which a final determination is made in regards to division placement. Teams are drafted in an attempt to create balance across each division of play.

Lake Norman Little League offers an advanced, competitive tournament play brand of softball within our Challenge Softball program. This program is a great introduction into tournament play for players who are above average to highly skilled and are looking to enhance their skills. PLAYERS MUST TRYOUT AND BE SELECTED TO A TEAM prior to participation. Additionally, PLAYERS MUST PARTICIPATE IN THE LEAGUE'S RECREATIONAL PROGRAM THIS SEASON to be eligible for tryouts and selection to a challenge team. If selected to participate after tryouts, instructions will be emailed to complete the registration process and submit payment.
