2020 Registration

  1. The Spring 2020 season was postponed until the start of the Fall 2020 season due to the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic as outlined in the 2020 Season Plans letter to families.  75% of participants registered for spring are returning for the fall.  Due to the number of returning participants and a lower available capacity due to fields availability, there are a limited number of spots available for new participants.  Registration for available spots opens on June 1, 2020 and will close July 19, 2020 (or sooner if capacity limits are reached).
  2. League Age for Tee Ball through Senior League can be determined using the Little League Age Calculator, or by referencing these charts:
    1. 2020 Little League Age Chart - Baseball
    2. 2020 Little League Age Chart - Softball
  3. League Age for 18U Baseball can be determined using the Babe Ruth Baseball Age Chart. Limited spots are available. Tryouts will be held to form a team.
  4. Intermediate 50/70, Junior League, and Senior League divisions play a district game schedule.  Limited travel to district opponent sites is required.
  5. Sibling $25 discount applies to all player registrations after the first player registration on an account.
  6. Registration for each division is subject to close early based on divisional capacity limits.
  7. Registrations accepted after the division has closed are subject to a $25 late registration fee.
  8. Registration fees are subject to change each season to cover rising costs for field rentals, equipment, insurance, umpires, uniforms, and investments in our facilities. 100% of the net proceeds are directly invested in the operation and enhancement of our programs.
  9. REFUND POLICY: Registration withdrawals prior to Skills Day will be refunded 50% of the paid registration fees. Registration withdrawals from Skills Day forward will not be refunded.
  10. TERMS & CONDITIONS: By registering for a league program, you agree to Lake Norman Little League's Terms & Conditions for participation.

League Age Eligibility

Lake Norman Little League offers recreational baseball and softball programs for players ages 4-18. League age ranges are typical for these programs to keep participants playing age appropriate ball. Age ranges overlap, allowing players who need a little more time to develop to play down in a division, or play up in a division if they are ready to advance.

Financial Assistance

Lake Norman Little League provides recreational opportunities for age-eligible youth participants that meet the residency requirements for participation within our league. To assist eligible participants in financial need, the league offers a limited number of scholarships each season. To be considered for financial assistance, parents must send proof of financial need (i.e., a copy of the school lunch program certificate, or some other proof of need document) to [email protected] requesting financial assistance for the upcoming season. The league board will consider all requests and notify parents of a decision within 2 weeks after submission.

Available Scholarships:

50% Scholarship: If a child qualifies for reduced price meals through the public-school lunch program, they will be eligible for assistance of up to 50% of the registration fee.

75% Scholarship: If a child qualifies for free meals through the public-school lunch program, they will be eligible for assistance of up to 75% of the registration fee.

Volunteer with Little League

Why Should I Become a Volunteer?
Little League Baseball and Softball is an organization designed to build good citizens.  It is a program of leadership, preparing today's youth to be tomorrow's leaders.  At the local level, Little League relies on a devoted legion of adult volunteers to help ensure that the organization remains structured and runs smoothly.  Lake Norman Little League is always looking for responsible and enthusiastic individuals to support and coordinate Little League events and activities.  As a volunteer, you should have a keen interest in the safety, well-being, and overall development of children.

Who Can Volunteer?

Anyone can apply to become a volunteer.  Whatever talents or skills you have, we can use them!  Across the country, volunteers are grandparents, siblings, aunts and uncles, retirees, community leaders, former Little Leaguers, friends, neighbors, and more.  Any community member who wishes to become a volunteer may apply.

All parents of children involved in Little League Baseball and Softball are strongly encouraged to volunteer. As a parent, volunteer, you have the opportunity to spend quality time with your child in a safe, fun-filled environment. Oftentimes, parent and child social lives parallel each other. Volunteering allows your life and your child's life to intersect on common ground, with shared interests and goals.

How Do I Become A Volunteer?

During registration, parents can select volunteer roles for which they would like to be considered for the current season.  Potential volunteers who are not registering a child can create an account on our website and register as a volunteer for the current season.  Volunteer applicants will then be emailed a link from J.D. Palatine (JDP) to complete the online volunteer application authorizing a background check.  Applicants who clear the background check process will be activated as league volunteers for the current calendar year.

What Can I Volunteer To Do?
No experience is required to become a volunteer. Most of the volunteer opportunities require little or no training. Lake Norman Little League will provide you with any necessary training (as well as support and encouragement), as deemed necessary.  The best volunteers are those who are able to bring added enjoyment to the game simply be being themselves.  What you see during Little League games is a mere fraction of what you can do as a volunteer.  You can volunteer to help in virtually any aspect of Little League Baseball or Softball.
