Lake Norman wins the Western North Carolina 18U Baseball State Championship

The 18U Baseball All-Stars from Lake Norman have won the 2022 Babe Ruth Western North Carolina State Championship! This is the first Lake Norman 18U team to win a state championship since the program launched in the fall of 2020. After going 3-1 during pool play in Asheville, NC, Lake Norman advanced to the single elimination round as the #2 seed. Lake Norman then defeated Indian Trail 6-3 in the semifinals, and Waxhaw 8-4 to claim the championship title.

Lake Norman’s 18U All-Star Team has a committed volunteer coaching staff who dedicated their time to organize and lead these outstanding young men. Many of the players have played recreational baseball together for over 10 years. After putting in hard work in preparation for the state tournament since the conclusion of the regular season, the team is extremely proud to bring home this state title for our league and local community.
